Our Story
“I started Vivo ABA because I believed families deserved something better than what the industry was offering.”
In her years working at larger ABA clinics, Yakima watched too many families struggle with rigid, one-size-fits-all programs. Parents were told their child needed 40 hours of therapy per week in a clinic, on a schedule that disrupted their entire family's routine. Children spent hours in sterile therapy rooms instead of learning where they actually live: at home, at school, in the community.
She saw the frustration in parents' eyes when they felt like observers in their child's therapy instead of partners. She heard stories of families driving an hour each way to clinic sessions while their child's real challenges like mealtime, bedtime, and playing with siblings went unaddressed.
Yakima knew there was a better way. In 2021, she founded Vivo ABA with a clear vision: personalized programs that fit each family's life, therapy in natural environments where skills actually matter, and parents as true partners in their child's progress.
Today, Vivo ABA serves families across Central Florida with care that combines evidence-based practice with real human connection, because effective therapy shouldn't mean disrupting your entire life.
What Makes Vivo ABA Different
- Therapy that fits your life, not the other way around. We come to you: home, school, or community.
- Parents as partners: we coach you to use ABA strategies at home, so progress continues beyond therapy sessions.
- Natural Environment Teaching (NET): learning through play and everyday moments, not just drills at a table.
- Small caseloads, big results: our BCBA personally oversees every program instead of managing 30+ clients.
